There are people who personify their country, their people, their vocation. People whose glorious deeds have written bright, bright, significant lines in the annals of our country. Their names are the visiting card of Kazakhstan. Outstanding people - anniversaries of 2023 - the heroes of the interactive literary exposition "GREAT PERSONS OF THE GREAT STEPPE", which solemnly opened on January 25 in the Pushkin Regional Library.

The event was attended by schoolchildren, students, civil servants, teachers and representatives of the creative intelligentsia.

At the head of the book gallery of images are the anniversaries-statesmen - "Glorious sons of the people" - a thinker, mystic poet and religious preacher, the founder of the Turkic branch of Sufism Khoja Ahmed Khazreti Sultan Yassaui; Kazakh state, political and public figure, biy of the Senior Zhuz, orator and poet Tole bi; akyn, zhyrau, biy, a prominent representative of Kazakh oral and poetic creativity Bukhar zhyrau Kalkamanuly; leader of the national liberation movement Alash, member of the government of Alash-Orda Otynshy Alzhanov; public figure, researcher, chronicler Boshai Kitapbaev; Kazakh statesman and political figure, current President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and others.
"Literature as Destiny" brought together writers-anniversaries, masters of the artistic word. This is a poet, philosopher, thinker Shakarim Kudaiberdyuly; poet-democrat, educator Sultanmakhmut Toraigyrov; writers Oralkhan Bokey, Anatoly Ivanov, Nikolai Gorbachev, Askar Altai, Toktarbek Magzumov, Kalkaman Sarin; akyn, journalist Serik Kusanbaev and many others. It is noteworthy that at the opening of the exhibition, along with books, a rare video was presented showing Oralkhan Bokey at the celebration of the anniversary of Barak Batyr in Kurchum.
"Life Turned into Creativity" about anniversaries - bright representatives of creative professions - composer-kuishi, classic of Kazakh instrumental music Kurmangazy Sagyrbayuly, the first Kazakh singer who happened to perform on the stage of Paris Amre Kashaubayev; Kazakh radio announcer, People's Artist of Kazakhstan, veteran of the Great Patriotic War Anuarbek Baizhanbaev; singer, cultural figure of Kazakhstan, scholar of Shakarim Keldenbay Ulmesekov; actor, director, screenwriter Sakan Akeleev; cartoonist Aidarbek Gazizuly and others. In addition to the book review, the guests of the meeting were shown a video recording made during the life of the actor and director Sakan Akeleev, who, moreover, was a regular reader of our library.
“They left their mark...” - about those anniversaries whose fate is inextricably linked with East Kazakhstan. These are our famous countrymen: educator, local historian Prokofy Grigoryevich Kharlamov; outstanding geologist, paleontologist, geographer, researcher of Altai, science fiction writer, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Vladimir Afanasyevich Obruchev; researcher of Altai Petr Aleksandrov Chikhachev; statesman, three times Hero of Socialist Labor, Minister of Medium Machine Building, Honorary Citizen of Ust-Kamenogorsk Efim Pavlovich Slavsky; scientist, linguist-Turkologist Sarsen Amanzholuly Amanzholov; the first rector of the UKPI (now VKU named after S. Amanzholov), Honored Worker of the Higher School of the Kazakh SSR (1981), Honorary Professor of the VKU named after S. Amanzholov Yumash Karimovich Uvaliev; culturologist, critic, Doctor of Philosophy, Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sabetkazy Nurzhakiyauly Aktayev; party leader, former akim of Semipalatinsk (now Semey city), Ust-Kamenogorsk, Honorary citizen of Tarbagatai region, Ust-Kamenogorsk city Amangeldy Kazhibaev; Master of Sports of the USSR in boxing, Honored Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan in kickboxing, three-time European champion, winner of international and republican cups Yerzhan Shegenov, etc.
The guests of the exhibition learned many interesting facts about the life and work of the heroes of the day, got acquainted with printed, video, photographic documents and the creative heritage of these outstanding personalities.
The exhibition became the beginning, the starting point for major library events dedicated to the anniversaries of 2023. After all, everyone should know these names and achievements. These great people are the pride and glory of the entire Kazakh people, national wealth and spiritual landmark for future generations!
